Medical Imaging Done Differently
Frequently Asked Questions
Non-invasive means nothing is inserted into your body and there are no incisions. It’s a gentle, external way of taking detailed pictures inside the body—without the need for surgery.
Each type of image reveals different things. For example, an X-ray can clearly show a broken bone, while an MRI or CT scan can help spot issues with soft tissues, joints, or internal organs. Trained radiologists know how to identify patterns and signs that may indicate an injury or illness, helping your doctor take the best next steps.
Imaging is just another important tool your doctor uses to understand your health. It helps diagnose issues, monitor progress, and guide treatment plans.
Medical imaging has been around for over a century and has become an essential part of modern care thanks to advanced technology and better accuracy.
Diagnostic imaging is a safe and noninvasive way to look inside your body to help identify injuries or health concerns. These images—like X-rays, CT scans, MRIs, DEXA, and Ultrasounds—give your doctor a clear picture of what’s going on, so they can make more informed decisions about your care.
Our board-certified radiologists interpret these images to help diagnose a wide range of conditions. Imaging plays a key role in planning treatments, guiding surgeries, and monitoring healing.
We’re open Monday through Friday, from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
We do our best to accommodate your schedule and offer appointments that work for you. Just reach out and we’ll find a time that fits your needs.
Absolutely. You’re welcome to bring a friend or family member for support. In most cases, they’ll wait in the lobby during your scan, but we’ll make sure you’re comfortable and cared for the entire time.
Yes, we do. Our team is experienced in working with children and takes extra steps to make sure they feel safe and supported. We explain the process in a gentle, kid-friendly way and keep parents involved every step of the way.
We accept all major credit and debit cards, cash, HSA/FSA cards, and in some cases, offer payment plans. If you’d like a quote or have questions about cost, we’re here to help—just call our office and we’ll walk you through your options.
Many imaging exams are covered by insurance when ordered by a doctor. We accept most major insurance plans and will help verify your benefits before your appointment. If you’re uninsured or your exam isn’t covered, we offer competitive self-pay pricing.
Yes. An order from your doctor ensures you’re getting the right type of imaging for your needs. If you’re not sure what’s required, give us a call—we’ll be glad to help.
Your images will be reviewed by one of our radiologists, and a detailed report will be sent to your doctor. Your doctor will then go over the results with you and explain any next steps. If more imaging is needed, we’ll help coordinate that for you.
Let’s walk through what to expect:
- You’ll check in at the front desk and complete paperwork
- You will be taken back to an exam room and may be asked to change into a gown.
- A technologist will explain your exam, ask about your health history, and answer any questions.
- You’ll be positioned carefully depending on the scan—lying down, or sitting
- The technologist will take the images, guiding you through each step.
Most exams are quick and painless. You may be asked to stay very still during imaging to help get the clearest pictures. We’re here to help you feel at ease the whole time.
The timing depends on the type of scan. Some exams, like an X-ray and DEXA, take just a few minutes. Others, like an MRI, CT scan, or Ultrasound may take 30 to 60 minutes. We’ll let you know what to expect when we call to remind you of your appointment.
Yes, imaging is safe. If radiation is involved—such as with X-rays or CT scans—we always use the lowest possible dose while still getting the clear images your doctor needs. MRI and ultrasound use no radiation at all.
If you’re pregnant or think you might be, please let us know before your exam.
Not at all! Most imaging exams are completely painless. You may feel light pressure during positioning or a moment of discomfort if contrast is used, but our technologists are here to keep you comfortable throughout the process.
Some exams may require you to avoid eating or drinking beforehand. We’ll give you clear instructions based on your exam, and if you have any questions, feel free to call us at 430-455-2715—we’re happy to walk you through it.
